About Ocean Grove

The Year was 1869, and a group of spiritual leaders assembled as The Ocean Grove Camp Meeting Association to form and incorporate the town of Ocean Grove. Now New Jersey's finest year-round family seashore resort, this one square mile of natural beauty has welcomed and delighted vacationers, including U.S. presidents, award-winning writers, and popular celebrities for over a century. On Ocean Grove's tree-lined streets is the largest assemblage of authentic Victorian architecture in the nation. In 1976, the town had the honor of being entered in the National Register of Historic Places. It has since been built up maintaining its original charm with restuarants, ice cream parlors and adorable boutiques. Ocean Grove's Great Auditorium is surrounded by Tent town which is quaint to walk around. Ocean Grove is very patriotic and many houses will have the american flag proudly displayed. The Great Auditoriam always plays the American Anthem before every show, it is a proud American place. It is has one of the first Methodist communities formed and the tents are passed down from generation to generation by religious methodist members. We have many events here, twice a year we have huge flea markets with over 300 vendors, along with that many people have garage sales on those days, the bargains are fantastic. Please look at the activities tab for more information. We love our town and hope you will too.
